MASAKAZU NAKAMURA – Visiting professor from Kyoto

Professor Masakazu Nakamura is from Tokyo, Japan, where he is an active member of the Ikenobo Tokyo Saisho-kai Chapter.

    Professor Nakamura began his study of Ikenobo ikebana in 1994, and in 2004 he graduated from the Advanced Course at the Ikenobo Central Training Institute, Ikenobo Headquarters, Kyoto. He has since completed the Special Advanced Courses in Rikka, Classic Rikka, Shoka, Free Style, the Special Advanced Three-day Course, and the Technical Seminar in Shoka. Prof. Nakamura is a member of the Central Advisory Boad of Ikenobo Society of Floral Art. Professor Nakamura teaches Ikenobo ikebana at his own classroom and also teaches display design at the interior design course of Tokyo Designer Gakuin. Prof. Nakamura visited Republic of Korea, Taiwan, and U.S.A. to participate in the events held in these countries.

    In addition to his teaching and study of Ikenobo, Professor Nakamura enjoys cooking and snowboarding.
