Bridging Worlds Bridging Hearts: Floral Ceremony Prayer

Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America and Ikenobo Northern California chapter hosted the floral tribute for the 5th anniversary for the Great East Japan Earthquake on Mach 6, 2016 at Peace Plaza, Japan Town.
Consul General of Japan, Mr. Yamada and The 49th Sakura Festival Chairman, Mr. Okamoto made speech and people prayed for the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas as quickly as possible.
For commemorating the 110th anniversary of Japan Town, “Hashi Art” made with chopsticks from various restaurants, shops, companies and schools were exhibited. “The triangle shape made with chopsticks is symbol of you, me and the family. We have to get over the difficult together any time.” The office manager of Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America, Ms. Kurashige explained.
The event had Ikenobo Reishiki-ike ceremony, Shakuhachi performance by Elliot Kallen, and Singing of National Anthem and “Hana wa Saku. About 250 people participated for the Floral Tribute.
